Rotary Club of Fairy Meadow supports R U OK? Day

To help create a world where all people are connected & are protected from suicide.

This year to help raise awareness in the local community The Rotary Club from Fairy Meadow is organising an awareness on Thursday 12 September at Fairy Meadow to encourage more Australians to have regular and meaningful conversations.

WHEN:           Thursday 12 September 2013, from 11 am to 3pm.

The R U OK? Foundation is hosting its 5th national day of action and aims to inspire more Australians to connect with anyone who might be struggling with life.

Last year an estimated 1 in 3 Australians asked the question. This event will be one of the hundreds of events taking place across the country to mark R U OK?Day 2013.

The R U OK? Foundation was founded by advertising executive Gavin Larkin in 2009. Gavin wanted to create a world without suicide after experiencing the suicide death of his father, Barry Larkin.

R U OK? Day is the foundation’s national day of action held every year on the second Thursday of September; dedicated to reminding people to regularly check in with family and friends and ask ‘are you ok?’

R U OK? aspires to build the capacity of family members, friends, colleagues, team-mates, students and community leaders to have regular, meaningful conversations with anyone who might be struggling with life.
